The creation of The ORIGINAL Worlds 1st INconel Alloy
To put it simply it’s all in the Weight, Density and the Alloy’s composition in distinct & exotic metals that make up this material such as large percents of Nickel, Chromium and Iron which further define its sonic characteristics. It’s also the proprietary Precipitation Aged Hardening process this specific INconel Alloy goes through in order to greatly increase the Strength & Density much more so than even a standard INconel Superalloy. Think..... the tonal differences from Domestic Woods compared to Australian timbers and also the tonal differences from Ply shells compared to Solid Steam bent shells. It is much like these comparisons, but in the application of a Metal shell.
The AcoutIN INconel is like blending Stainless, Black Iron & Bell Brass all in ONE......
It is dynamic in articulation & vocality similar to Stainless, but Dry, Focused and tons of up front presence more associated to Black Iron and Bell Brass. It is controlled, dry, sensitive and extraordinarily throaty with more Body and Depth in comparison to Black Iron or Bell Brass which utilize a thick shell construction to generate their power/presence..... whereas INconel, due to its alloy composition achieves such an incomparable degree of INcreased Stength & Density above ALL other metals AND most importantly can be run in a thinner gauge shell to maintain these initial distinctive notes associated w/ cast shells etc., but allow for a broader note and much much more depth in capability.
The IDEA of INconel
Truly something special in so many ways. The Worlds 1st INconel Superalloy musical instrument of any kind. INconel as I became familiar with it is used as F1 exhaust as opposed to Titanium and/or Stainless due to it's incredibly extreme capabilities from Cryogenic to +1400 F. INconel is know as a Superalloy for many many reasons from it's Corrosion/Oxidation resistance far above Titanium and/or Stainless as well as it's Density/Strength far above ALL Metals, Alloys & Superalloys. INconel is a Nickel alloy blended with Chromium, Iron & Titanium to deliver an alloy suited for extreme environments most importantly including Kinetic energy and it's behavior in such environments.

The INdepth details
This very extra special INstrument comes from extreme application influence in the best way possible. The idea of INconel began with the thought of what lies ahead in the world of exotic, distINct & bespoke materials used for Sonic purpose. I initially learned of the Superalloy know as INconel from its application in extreme Motorsports such as F1, NASCAR and its use in aftermarket supercar Exhaust systems. The specific application in exhaust delivers an elevation in performance and Tone (Note) of the Engine. To put it simply, if you’d like your V12 Lamborghini to sound as much like an absolutely screaming F1 car then source an ever exclusive INconel exhaust!
With the relation from Material to Sound, it was only a matter of time till it sent me to the drawing board to learn about this distinctive Superalloy.
The search started in 2018 for the What’s, Why’s and Where’s of INconel. Well to start, it’s an Alloy unlike and incomparable to any other Alloy.
The composition of a Superalloy
INconel’s primary contributors to its Sonic composition is directly related to the 55% Nickel, 21% Chromium (Chrome) AND its remaining balance being 24% Iron. Let’s leave it nice and simple, this Superalloys is performance based to withstand Cryogenic to +1400 F. temperatures for the life of its application. As for reference, if you ever take a look at the inner workings of the F35 Fighter Jet, approximately 30% of the weight of Engine is comprised of the use of INconel.
There is a small array of differentiated INconel alloys to choose from, but only one was sourced for its individual sonic benefits.
The selection of The ORIGINAL Worlds 1st INconel Alloy began by selecting one with a very unique aging process. INconel in any form doesn’t call for any additional strength or density treatment…..., but it couldn’t hurt could it?...... the specific INconel sourced introduces a Precipitation Age HardenINg process which is Gamma Double Prime Strengthened forming small crystals that inhibit slip and creep issues at extremely elevated temperatures. This process takes one of the worlds most temperature resistant and highly strengthened materials AND further increases every aspect of its performance in Strength, Density, Corrosion & Temperature resistance.
Utilizing this incredible material is certainly unique, bespoke & unlike anything else. A genuine step forward in Rare, Exotic & Innovative materials added to the world of percussion.
